HOW DO I SHOW DIFFERENT SIGNS AT DIFFERENT TIMES

There are two kinds of scheduling available in SignStix Director:

1. ‘Campaign scheduling’ allows you to prepare entire campaigns of content which will automatically be triggered across your estate when a certain date and time is reached.  This is convenient for managing large-scale seasonal changes in content.  See the Campaigns How-To for details.

2. ‘Signage scheduling’ allows you to specify what signage (signs or sequences) should be played on which days of the week at which times. The rest of this article covers signage scheduling.

Creating a Signage Schedule in Director

It is assumed that you have at least two signs in your account:

How do I show different signs at different times
  1. Log into Director.
  2. Navigate to Content > All Schedules.
  3. Click the plus (+) button and choose ‘New Schedule’.
  4. Enter a name for your new schedule e.g. ‘Weekly1′.
  5. In the ‘Schedule entries’ section, use the plus (+) buttons to add signs or sequences to the schedule:
    • Locate your desired sign or sequence (use the filter text box if convenient).
    • Click the sign or sequence.
    • This will add it to the schedule, but the panel is kept open so that you can add further content if required.
    • When you’re finished, click the ‘Close’ button.
  6. Back in the schedule panel you will see your new schedule entries.
  7. Adjust the settings for your entries as required:
    • The ‘Start Date’ is the date on which this schedule entry is considered ‘live’.  It defaults to today’s date, but can be set to a date in the future if you don’t want the signage to be displayed until that point (e.g. because it’s advertising a special offer that doesn’t start until a particular date).
    • The ‘Time’ is the time of day on which to start showing this signage.
    • The type of ‘Repeat’.  ‘Daily’ means that this entry will be active every day.  ‘One-off’ means that this entry will only be active on the date already specified.  ‘Specific Days’ means that this entry will be active on the specific days of the week that you nominate with the tick-boxes.
  8. Click the ‘Add Schedule’ button to complete the process.

HINT
: There is no ‘end time’ for a schedule entry. So a schedule entry will play forever or until it is overridden by another schedule entry.

Examples
